iRest Yoga Meditation and Mindfulness Course


This course is based on iRest yoga Nidra meditation which is a contemporary, evidence-based meditation.

It will be lead by Sanda Palmer and Co-facilitated by Bridget McNamara


WHO IS iREST MEDITATION USEFUL FOR?

  • A history of trauma

  • Chronic pain / fibromyalgia / chronic fatigue

  • Insomnia

  • Anixety

  • Stressful lives


WHAT ARE THE OUTCOMES?

  • Increased body awareness in a safe, non confrontational manner

  • Increased ability to manage stress, anxiety/PTSD symptoms and develop relaxation skills

  • Safe, easy to learn breath exercises

  • Development of an inner resource as a safe refuge to support trauma therapy and lifes challenges

  • An ability to develop relaxation skills and self-soothing techniques

  • Mindfulness skills and the ability to take perspective and stand back from emotions and thoughts and see them as sensations in the body

  • An internal sense of peace, ease, contentment and joy


This course is open to anyone, but will be run with an emphasis on those with a history of trauma. It can be self-funded or funded through ACC ISSC (as a Short-Term Group Therapy) for those with a covered claim.
